There is nothing more satisfying after months of feeling worthless, run-down, and ultimately useless to go into a new job and be praised for what you can do. It’s really just a tiny moment, but it goes a long way in helping you realize just how wonderful you are. It can be so easy to forget what makes you unique and valuable, just remembering that you can accomplish things in a way no one else can. Today I had one of those moments and it made me smile and I feel so relieved that the waiting was worth it.

You can always start again. Clean out your social media. Create a new account for your new taste in music. Study or work in a new city. Start socialising with new people. Choose a new signature scent and style and purge the outdated parts of yourself. If you don’t like where you’re at, but you don’t know what to do about it - try starting again.

journal series: it’s one of the hardest things in the world to try to be a productive student when you have anxiety. it’s also, I’ve learned, one of the bravest things in the world. to be able to get up in the morning and build enough energy to try and affect change in your life; even if that means doing something as little as printing out a study guide due in a week. even the little things can help you grow. so if you’re like me, and you feel like you’re doing everything under the sun to be the best you can be, but you still feel like it’ll never be enough, take a moment to think about what you have accomplished instead of what you haven’t. and know that maybe tomorrow you’ll feel a little bit better and get a little more done. I promise you that you have enough time. it’s going to be okay.
